member of the American Psychological Association, Mr. Khorasani is a PsychologistA specializing in music therapy and meditation. He was born in Tabriz, Iran in 1971. He is a highly respected Master of Persian Classical Music Theory and Practice, and especially of the Daf, which is the musical instrument most used in Persian spiritual practices, as well as the Tanboor.
He has studied under guidance of Mr. Kaveh (Tanboor & Divan) and Mr. Masood Habibi (Daf), one of the most prominent Daf players in the world.
Mr. Khorasani managed Mr. Habibi's orchestra, comprised of more than 60 Daf players, and has performed in Sufi Festivals in many countries including:
Turkey (Konya Mevlana International SUFI Concert) India; Jahan-e-Khosro Sufi Festival (2001-2005) Azerbaijan; The Netherlands; France; and the USA.
Mr. Khorasani has performed in collaboration with some of the most famous ensembles including Hadis, Masnavi, Iranian National Radio and TV, Azarbaijan Orchestra, Dallahoo Ensemble, Opening Ceremony National Olympic Canoe Committee and many more.
Since 2005 Naser Khorasani has been Directing the Daf division of the Sama Ensemble in both Maryland and Virginia. He currently teaches Daf and Persian Classical Music Theory and Practice at the Center For Persian Classical Music in Vienna, Virginia
